USA will fare better after this game. It would have been much closer if not for Knight's give-aways.

Tonight, team USA was static (especially on the PP) and wasted Zegras’ playmaking ability. But his snipe was a thing of beauty... Kid has to shoot way more.

Ducks D pick Thrun played a solid game as he wasn’t exposed much. LaCombe, though, was exposed quite a few times and looked overwhelmed after Russia scored their 2nd goal. Sanderson’s misplaced pass to his forward did him no favors. That goal got to him and he looked overwhelmed from that point on. He’s fast as hell, though, but overwhelmed. Colangelo wasn’t used much. Wish he got some PP time as well.

York looked real solid. He's a beaut. USA better get more cohesive on their breakouts and PP setups. And I think Knight has a solid bounce back tonight.

Knight was awful and I wonder if he gets the start tonight. They are already in a must win situation without time to see if the goalie can bounce back or not. It looks like York is turning into a solid pick for the Flyers. Brink also had his moments and seemed to get more minutes in the critical third period. USA is a very talented team.

Sweden in a romp. I notice Andrae is not getting much ice time even in the blowout.

That Elmer Soderblom kid is a stud. Red Wings got a good one.

He got about 5 mins of ice time in the 3rd period. Didn't get an assist on the Bjerselius goal but was part of the puck movement sequence. Later had a good hit in the neutral zone.

Yeah, that was a good sequence. I find myself zeroing in on our prospects whenever they are on the ice. So that probably influenced my perception that he wasn't playing all that much as the game went on.

The kid looks like a fireplug.

Tonight it will be all about looking for #4 and #24 against Austria.

I know this probably comes off as sounding like a bleeding heart, but Canada was already up 10-1. I didn't like that the ref called that ticky tacky holding penalty on Germany that pretty much resulted in them going down 11-1.

As Paul Stewart always says, the ref needs to understand the flow of the game.

I also don’t like running the score up....even if most of it was some of the worst goaltending I’ve seen in a long time. I turned it off half way through to watch Youngblood...that’s how bad that game was.
